Product Highlights
The FSW9 is a mechanical flange spreading tool kit used to separate flange joints for maintenance, installation, testing and decommissioning. According to the kit combination, the kit contains one or two FSW9 spreading wedges and all items required to operate the tool safely. It is packaged in a robust carry case for easy transport and storage.
The FSW9 produces a maximum spreading force of 94kN (21132 lbf) when the maximum torque of 200Nm (150lbf*ft) is applied with the torque wrench provided in the kit.
A powerful and portable mechanical tool, the FSW9 weighs only 5.5Kg (12.12lbs) and is the correct tool when a mechanical tool is required for medium and small sized flange joints.

Mechanical Flange Spreader Usage Areas
The FSW9 tool is design to enter the gap between flanges and force the flange open removing the requirement for traditional rigging equipment and certified anchor points.
It is highly recommended that a minimum of 2 FSW9 tools are used when spreading flange joints – This allows the operator to control the opening of the flange joint to maintain a parallel gap – this will ensure the tool maintains a secure grip on the flange and prevent pinching the gasket and potential flange face damage.
The FSW9 is actuated by a mechanical lead screw that creates a linear force on the internal wedge – the internal wedge then forces the jaws of the tool apart.
As it is a mechanical tool it is unaffected by ambient temperature and can operate in harsh environments.
